1453-1457 Boston Road, west side, at the head of Bristow Street, showing the "Spy House", dating back to pre-Revolutionary days. It is said to have been the dwelling, during the American Revolution, of a spy, who enacted the same role as did Harvey Birch in Fenimore Cooper's story, 'The Spy'. The house was razed some time between 1907 and 1911 and on its site now (1938) stands a 1-story brick building bearing the above numbers.
