Lexington Avenue, north from E. 46th Street (intersection in foreground), showing north of 47th Street the new hotel zone with its Lexington, Shelton, Montclair and Beverly on the east side of same. The lower block (46th - 47th Street) front in conjunction with adjoining buildings will be cleared (with the exception of a 20 foot parcel at No. 493) and the space improved with a 1 story commercial building to contain 11 stores, and an automobile parking lot. This will cost $150,000. A fuller account was carried in the New York Sun of December 19, 1938. View No. 3 shows only this limited area. Note in No. 1, the Grand Central Palace opposite same.
